Daddy's Ouchies

A couple of days ago my husband was carrying laundry down the stairs behind me when he slipped. He hit the corner of the wall before I could catch him. His leg immediately began to swell which then turned into this wonderful yellow bruise. Him and Koco have matching bruises.

Then today he was trying to put in the air conditioner to combat the 90 degree weather we are having. Three hours and seven stiches later he got it installed. His first mistake was not waiting for help. Then he turned his back on an unlatched window. The window of course immediately fell causing a cut on his arm. I screamed and ran outside yelling "honey, are you okay?" His response was classic he said "ummmm Noooo." He had cut his arm protecting himself form the falling window. So we left Koco with Grandpa B and went to the ER. We spent just over three hours in the waiting room, for the doctor to tell us what we already knew, He needed stiches. So of course he had to get a nurse to come in and set everything up while he did god knows what. Then when he finally came back, it took maybe five minutes. Then the nurse had to come back and bandage it up and have us sign paperwork before we could finally leave. On a positive note we ran into a friend in the waiting room. She is pregnant with her fourth child and yet she has no children. Due to an illness they have all died in utero. We think she's going to make it this time. Go Heather go, only 7 more weeks!

Koco has discovered two of his weaknesses, soda (thanks Uncle B) and cereal.

Unfotunately...

Mommy won't let him eat them!

Share daddy I like cereal!

I was sitting down in the basement creating this post, thinking about how much cleaning I have still yet to do, when

From upstairs there arose such a clatter

I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter

Up the stairs I flew like a flash

Went from walking into a running dash

There sat my husband crying baby and all

Koco was screaming, the bump so small

"He fell, he fell" was all that I heard

I gave him a look that said not another word

I grabbed up my son and held him tight

"Shush sweet baby it will be alright"

I rocked him and rocked him

Until the crying grew dim

Dont' shed another tear

Mommy is here

I made it all better and came back down

to tell you all how he bruised his crown

Now I must go make sure he's okay

I'll talk to y'all another day!

Congratulations!

Koco's Aunt A graduated this past weekend. We decided to send her this picture as a reminder because it was on her mind anyways I'm sure. This was her eighth grade graduation. My dad was there cigarette and all. We went to dinner afterwards as it was the last night Auntie M was here from Minnesota. Can you imagine 20 people sitting down to dinner? And that was only immediate family members. Koco is playing by himself right now he's so independent that me and his daddy are thinking about doing this
again. By this I mean we are no longer preventing it and in a few months may go to the doctor for some assistance. We even cleaned out the spare bedroom by moving the computer to the basement. This decision was very hard to make but I think it will be okay. Number one priority is me going back to work and school. Then I'll really have my hands full. Koco likes to play by himself and climb the stairs. After the second fall down them we bought a new gate. Thank the lord we didn't have to go to the hospital. Koco also likes to take his own picture as shown here. He's growing up so fast it makes me kind of sad but happy at the same time. Well I should get him he's got 409 cleaner, I don't know how he got it but he I do know he shouldn't have it. I'll be back when I have more news (you never know!).

Happy Birthday to me and now I'm 23.

Today is my birthday and Koco is so excited he can hardly sleep.Yeah right and monkeys can fly. This kid could sleep through anything once you get him to sleep he's out. Today daddy let me sleep in by taking care of Koco before he went to work. Then when I got up the two of us had breakfast. I had captain crunch and Koco had micorwave pancakes. Then we played for little bit before nap time. I love nap time it's the only time I get any peace anymore. Not that I'm complaining too much, I love being his mommy. We then wathced Passions our favorite soap. I know I know he shouldn't be watching them but we can't help ourselves. We're desperate for Ethan and Theresa to get back together. After our soap was over I got a disturbing phone call from a woman at my car dealership. They "accidently" took $500 too much out of my account. Oopps! That's what she had the nerve to tell me. Koco was taking nap #2 so I told her how I felt about it. I can't put that on here though because I would have to censor myself. I mean were not talking about $5 or even $50 but $500. She's lucky I even had that much for them to take. My mom is taking us to dinner tonight so I guess I'll have to forget about how upset I am and enjoy my b-day.
Happy Birthday you dork!

Our night out!

So yesterday was Big Daddy and my aniversary and we went out. We went to see Scary movie 4 which I do not recommend by the way. We also had planned to go to dinner but that got nixed considering the traffic at restaurants on a Friday night. So we went out after and I had a couple of my "kool-aids" which was great. The bar was slow so there wasn't much to do and by the time I realized this I was too intoxicated to drive home. Then I picked Koco up this morning at Aunt N and Uncle B's house. Thanks for watching him you guys. And now the holy terror is waking up, yelling about his lunch.

So I'll end this message with a note to my husband. I'm suprised it's already been three years and yet it feels like this picture was taken only yesterday. Here's to three more plus three times three and then add another 30 or so for good measure. I love you more everday for the things you do for us and I promise to someday take you away on a vacation perhaps to somewhere like this:

Wish you were here

This is Koco's Aunt A. She went to prom last weekend and looked like a hot mama! Unfortunately it wasn't the happiest event because this past December our dad died. He is missing some of the most important events in her life. She will graduate next weekend and I'm so very proud of her. May I be the first to say I wish you the best in all that you do. And please remember he's always with you, no matter what, in your heart.

My dad was so happy to finally after six granddaughters, have a grandson. I was proud to be the one to give that to him even if he isn't going to carry on the family name. The picture on the left is my dad. I don't know when it was taken, Koco's Auntie M sent it to me. But I do see a little resemblence between the two. I think Koco's Uncle Brad looks just like Grandpa though. I just want to say Dad I miss you every day and hope you know how much I love you. Sorry if I'm making anyone cry, I know I sure am. But it's just with these events and my birthday coming up I think of what it would have been like to have him back here. Time is already taking it's toll and I don't want to forget his voice, his smell, his yawn, his laugh, or his smile. I don't want to be doing this because I never thought it would happen to us. But it did and I'm happy that all of you have been trying so hard to help us all through. Thank you for your love and support, I love all you guys.

After the party we took Koco home to let him open his present from us. He had a long day at his party and was happy to oblige my photo shoot after some much needed rest.

I'm not sure who likes the gift more Koco or Daddy. They had a blast playing "baseball."

Koco +

Cake =

A BIG MESSY GOOD TIME!

On another note Koco has 7 cousins currently but it seems he will be gaining two more by the end of the year. Congratulations to you guys! I'm happy for all three of you. But Steven is still off limits.

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to

Let's just say sick babies and birthday parties don't mix. Saturday was Koco's first birthday party and he has a virus that's wreaking havoc on him. Here Koco was crying because the present fell on him. But it wasn't all bad all the other kids played and had a good time.

Here Koco's cousins enjoy some cake...

And we enjoyed pizza and punch...

Koco's new friend Ty even had fun rolling around on the floor....

Koco enjoyed opening his presents but....

The tractor from Grandpa and Grandma B is his favorite gift of all.

Happy Birthday big boy!!! Mommy and Daddy love you.
